Presentation Policy

ICDCS 2022 is an in person conference, which was clearly shown on the website from the very beginning. The organizing committee wants to encourage in person attendance and presentation as much as possible.

Given the travel restrictions in some countries/regions, we have the following policy on presentation.

  • Authors of accepted papers must do as much as possible to attend and present the paper in person. These include but are not limited to: identifying one co-author that has less restrictions thus easier to travel (e.g., a faculty-member having a passport that doesn’t require a visa), or finding a colleague, lab mate that is familiar enough with the work to do a reasonable job presenting the paper.
  • Authors from countries/regions with little or light travel restrictions (e.g., North America, Europe) are in general expected to come in person for presentation, because the burden is not significantly higher than travels at other times.
  • If there are issues about visa, please reach out to our local arrangements chair (see Visa Information – ICDCS 2022), and we will help as much as we can on your visa (e.g., communicating with Italian consulates).
  • A remote presentation can be requested and is allowed only after the authors have explored and exhausted other in person presentation options. They must show that they have indeed spent a sincere effort exploring in person presentation options, thus a remote presentation is the last resort.
  • If a remote presentation request is granted, the authors must prepare a 20-minute, pre-recorded high quality video, join the session online, and answer questions after the presentation. Detailed instructions will be posted later.
